Description

The Comfort Plus Regular, with 598 Air Sprung Cells, is one of the most sensitive and comfortable sleeping pads available. Our Comfort Plus mats are rectangular in shape, ensuring there is sleeping mat wherever you may want it. The Comfort Plus series are formed using Dual Layer construction—two independent, offset high resolution layers. The higher resolution cell matrices allow greater sensitivity by distributing your body weight and shape over more small cells.

The air sprung cells on the top and bottom layers are offset to give more uniform insulation, preventing cold spots. The mat’s firmness can be more finely tuned with Dual Layer construction – The bottom layer is inflated firm for height, then the top layer inflated to the desired comfort level. If either layer is punctured, the other layer will provide redundancy, keeping you off the ground and sleeping uninterrupted.

The Comfort Plus is available in Small, Regular and Large sizes (tapered shape).

Features:

  • Includes an Airstream Pump that is integrated into the stuff sack for quick and easy inflation (selected mats only)
  • Air Sprung Cells - Air Sprung Cells are the core technology of our sleeping mat range, and are the reason why you will sleep better on a Sea to Summit sleeping mat. Instead of the typical baffled construction, Sea to Summit sleeping mats are constructed using a dot-weld pattern to create a high surface-area matrix of interconnected chambers called Air Sprung Cells. Air Sprung Cells operate in the same way as a pocket spring mattress. As each cell deforms independently the mattress conforms to your body shape. This makes for a softer and more comfortable feel with more body contact area and even dispersion of pressure.
    • Comfort Plus series - Dual Layer Design - Dual layer construction uses two independent high resolution layers, giving greater sensitivity by distributing your body weight and shape over more cells. The two layers are offset for more uniform insulation and cushioning. The Comfort Plus range provides the most effective system for fine tuning the level of comfort available in any air mattress today. When on uneven or bumpy terrain the bottom layer of the mattress can be inflated to a high pressure to serve as a barrier. The upper layer can then be adjusted - using the fine tune valve - to a lower pressure for a softer and more comfortable feel. The dual layer design also ensures a level of built-in redundancy. If you do end up with a puncture in one layer of the mattress, then you can still get through the night with the other layer of the mattress intact.
    • Thermal Insulation Technology - Exkin Platinum is a very lightweight, quiet non-woven fabric that has a thin metalized layer applied to the surface. Exkin Platinum thermal technology reflects radiant heat loss back to the user.
    • Thermolite insulation, designed for ultimate performance, is made from specially engineered fibers to achieve a high CLO value with low weight. Thermolite HL-1 high loft insulation is a fiberfill constructed with a unique 3D crimp of hollow-core and solid fibers, which provide excellent lightweight warmth with superior durability. The Thermolite insulation lofts up inside the Air Sprung Cells to prevent convective heat loss from your warm body to the cold ground.
    • Exkin Platinum and Thermolite are combined to great effect in each of the insulated versions of our mats.
    • Multi-Function Valve - To make inflation and deflation easier Sea to Summit has developed the multi-function valve. Our valve integrates an inflate port with a one-way valve to prevent air loss before you seal the valve, a rapid air dump deflate port, and a fine-tune button to adjust for comfort - all in one compact, low profile unit.
    • Inflate and deflate pull tabs are tactile and colour coded for easy identification.
    • 40D Nylon Face Fabric - STS developed the 40D ripstop nylon face fabric to hit the right balance between weight and durability. On the inside they apply a bright white TPU to make the fabric airtight and weldable. On the outside they apply a thin proprietary coating to reduce the slipperiness of the surface, increase puncture with self-adhesive patches.
    • 20D Nylon Internal Fabric - We also developed a lightweight 20D nylon laminated with TPU on both surfaces to create a strong double sided weldable fabric. This is used for the interior of our double layer, offset Air Sprung Cell mats.
    • Extrusion TPU Lamination - STS TPU coating is applied through a process unique to the medical and aeronautical industries. Extrusion lamination is more durable, consistent and enables us to use our own TPU recipe. It is vastly superior to roll-to-roll lamination, which is used in all outdoor products at present and are prone to delamination issues.
    • STS have two superb pump options, the Jetstream and the Airstream. However, for those weight-conscious users who will inflate the mats by mouth, the antimicrobial treatment in the TPU will prevent issues caused by warm, moist expelled breath trapped inside the mat.
    • Stuff Sacks and Repair Kits - All Sea to Summit sleeping mats come with a quality stuff sack sized to suit your mat. We also include a small repair kit containing six self adhesive patches for repairing punctures in the field, and a spare silicone one-way valve flap.

    FAQs

    Q. WILL MOISTURE BUILD UP DAMAGE MY MAT IF I INFLATE IT WITH MY BREATH?

    A. Absolutely not. We have gone to extreme lengths to ensure that the fabrics and coatings that we have used in the construction of our Air Sprung Cell Mattresses can easily withstand the moisture build up that could occur from inflating them with your breath. We have also carefully treated our internal coatings to ensure that microbial life cannot replicate in a moisture rich environment, thus removing the chance that your mat may become moldy.

    Q. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO INFLATE MY AIR SPRUNG CELL MATTRESS?

    A. STS Air Sprung Cell Mattresses can be inflated in a number of ways. We have been very careful in using a TPU laminate on the internal face of the fabrics that has been manufactured with an anti-microbial treatment. This means that you are able to blow your mattress up by mouth without risk of mould growth inside the mattress. If you prefer not to huff and puff when setting up camp, we have created the Jet Stream Pump Pack and the Air Stream Dry Sack to make your life easier.

    Q. HOW DO I REPAIR MY AIR SPRUNG CELL MAT?

    A. Every mattress comes with a repair kit containing a number of patches. These self-adhesive repair patches can be used on holes up to about 2 mm in diameter with complete confidence. If you have a hold larger than this, please contact STS enquiries as to the best way to effect a repair.

    Q. WHAT DO I DO IF WATER OR MOISTURE GETS TRAPPED INSIDE MY MATTRESS?

    A. Having a small amount of moisture trapped inside your mattress is not a major issue, and the moisture will not damage your mat in anyway because of the anti-microbial TPU lining. You should, however, give your mattress an opportunity to dry out when you get a chance. The best way to achieve this is to hang the mat in a warm and dry environment with the valve open.

    Q. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN MY STS MATTRESS?

    A. Mild soap and water is the best way to try and clean any dirt or grime off your mattress. The external coating on the face fabric will ensure that cleaning is quick and effective. Be careful not to use any strong cleaning products or bleaches, as these will damage the fabrics and potentially compromise the integrity of the mattress.
