Incorporating a 3500mAh internal lithium polymer battery, the upgraded solarmonkey V2 adventurer features a 4-colour LED light to show level of charge left in the internal battery and a 5V  2 Amp output which enables efficient charging of mobile devices. 

This charger is compatible with a whole host of 5V devices and can charge an iPhone / smartphone 1-2 times, a GPS 1-3 times or an iPad by up to 25%. It is also compatible with head lamps, e-readers, hand-held action cameras and much more.

The slim, compact design offers optimum weight-to-efficiency at just 265g and the 2 solar panels output 3 watt max. The adventurer features auto-load, self sensing switching technology, meaning when a device is connected, the adventurer will automatically start to charge your device and will optimise the charging parameters required.

The solarmonkey adventurer includes a "daisy-chain" feature which means you can charge your device whilst the internal battery is being charged via the solar panels. When adventurers finally stop after a day’s exploring the solarmonkey adventurer can carry on charging itself and other devices efficiently in low light conditions thanks to the maximum power point tracker (MPPT) technology within it and, when the sun finally sets, the internal battery can keep your devices powered through the night.

The bespoke travel case has been developed using toughened materials and includes integral fixings, straps and a carabiner so that the solarmonkey adventurer is well protected and can be firmly secured to a backpack to make the most of the day’s sunlight to recharge the internal battery unit while on the go. There are also pockets within the case to hold your cables and tips.

A: Yes.  You can use our universal travel adaptor to charge the internal battery of the solarmonkey adventurer via AC Mains.

A: The solarmonkey adventurer will charge virtually any 5V device that can be charged via a USB cable.  This includes: iPad, iPhone, smartphones, cell phones, GPS, Sat Nav, e-readers.

Q: How big is the solarmonkey adventurer?
A: This fabulous charger is actually very compact.  It measures just 170 x 96 x 22 mm when folded and weighs just 265 g.

Q: Is the solarmonkey adventurer waterproof?
A: No.  The solarmonkey adventurer is not completely waterproof but it is water resistant so will survive a few drops of rain or splashes.

Q: Will the solarmonkey adventurer charge my laptop?
A: No.  Laptops require a much greater voltage than the solarmonkey adventurer is able to provide.  Please consider the powergorilla.

Q: Is there an in-car charger for the solarmonkey adventurer?

Q: What is the carabiner for?
