    Description

eXtra Thick (XT) and wide for extra comfort.

The updated Comfort Plus XT Insulated Rectangular Air Mat provides a generous 8cm of air cushioned comfort, with a dual-chamber design where each layer can be pressurised independently: inflate the top layer to your personal comfort while maintaining a high-pressure base layer for protection from rough terrain.

Utilising a wider Air Sprung Cell dot pitch to create larger pockets of air for eXtra Thickness (XT), this mat combines a lightweight 30/40D Nylon fabric, Exkin Platinum and THERMOLITE insulation for increased warmth while minimising weight and packed size.

Wider than the standard STS Air Mats, the Comfort Plus XT offers a little more room to move around and the extra height is perfect for side sleepers as it allows your hips to sink deeper into the mat without touching the ground.

    Features:

    • Includes an Airstream Pump that is integrated into the stuff sack for quick and easy inflation. Harnessing the Bernoulli effect means the Airstream can be inflated with a single breath and fill a Sea to Summit air mat fast, with minimal breath condensation. Inverting the Pumpsack makes it compatible with our smaller 15mm mini multi-function valve, now featured on the updated Aeros pillow range. The new combined stuff sack Airstream Pumpsack weighs between 37g and 60g depending on the size and model of mat.
    • PillowLock system - Easily secure your Aeros pillow (sold separately) to your Sea to Summit self-inflating or air sprung cell mat for a slip-free sleep. Designed to keep your pillow exactly where it’s meant to be—on your sleeping mat
    • Air Sprung Cells - Air Sprung Cells are the core technology of the sleeping mat range, and are the reason why you will sleep better on a Sea to Summit sleeping mat. Instead of the typical baffled construction, Sea to Summit sleeping mats are constructed using a dot-weld pattern to create a high surface-area matrix of interconnected chambers called Air Sprung Cells. Much like a pocket-spring mattress, as each Air Sprung Cell deforms independently, the mat conforms to your body shape which feels softer and more comfortable by maintaining more body contact area and even dispersion of pressure
    • Comfort Plus series - Dual Layer Design - Dual layer construction uses two independent high resolution layers, giving greater sensitivity by distributing your body weight and shape over more cells. The two layers are offset for more uniform insulation and cushioning. The Comfort Plus range provides the most effective system for fine tuning the level of comfort available in any air mattress today. When on uneven or bumpy terrain the bottom layer of the mattress can be inflated to a high pressure to serve as a barrier. The upper layer can then be adjusted - using the fine tune valve - to a lower pressure for a softer and more comfortable feel. The dual layer design also ensures a level of built-in redundancy. If you do end up with a puncture in one layer of the mattress, then you can still get through the night with the other layer of the mattress intact.
    • Thermal Insulation Technology - Exkin Platinum is a very lightweight, quiet non-woven fabric that has a thin metalized layer applied to the surface. Exkin Platinum thermal technology reflects radiant heat loss back to the user.
    • Thermolite insulation, designed for ultimate performance, is made from specially engineered fibers to achieve a high CLO value with low weight. Thermolite HL-1 high loft insulation is a fiberfill constructed with a unique 3D crimp of hollow-core and solid fibers, which provide excellent lightweight warmth with superior durability. The Thermolite insulation lofts up inside the Air Sprung Cells to prevent convective heat loss from your warm body to the cold ground.
    • Exkin Platinum and Thermolite are combined to great effect in each of the insulated versions of our mats.
    • Multi-Function Valve - To make inflation and deflation easier Sea to Summit has developed the multi-function valve. Our valve integrates an inflate port with a one-way valve to prevent air loss before you seal the valve, a rapid air dump deflate port, and a fine-tune button to adjust for comfort - all in one compact, low profile unit.
    • Inflate and deflate pull tabs are tactile and colour coded for easy identification.
    • 30/40D Nylon Face Fabric - STS developed the 30/40D Nylon face fabric to hit the balance between weight and durability. The 40D warp yarn (running lengthwise providing the fabric framework) adds strength while the 30D weft yarn (weaved across the warp yarn) reduces the overall weight of the fabric and creates a textured weave. On the inside STS have applied a bright white extrusion laminated TPU to make the fabric airtight and weldable. On the outside STS apply a thin acrylic coating to reduce the slipperiness of the surface, increase puncture resistance and to aid puncture repair with self-adhesive patches.
    • Extrusion TPU Lamination - STS TPU coating is applied through a process unique to the medical and aeronautical industries. Extrusion lamination is more durable, consistent and enables us to use our own TPU recipe. It is vastly superior to roll-to-roll lamination, which is used in all outdoor products at present and are prone to delamination issues.
    • All Sea to Summit Air Sprung Cell mats include a small repair kit containing six self-adhesive patches for repairing punctures in the field, and a spare silicone one-way valve flap.

    FAQs

    Q. WILL MOISTURE BUILD UP DAMAGE MY MAT IF I INFLATE IT WITH MY BREATH?

    A. Absolutely not. We have gone to extreme lengths to ensure that the fabrics and coatings that we have used in the construction of our Air Sprung Cell Mattresses can easily withstand the moisture build up that could occur from inflating them with your breath. We have also carefully treated our internal coatings to ensure that microbial life cannot replicate in a moisture rich environment, thus removing the chance that your mat may become moldy.

    Q. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO INFLATE MY AIR SPRUNG CELL MATTRESS?

    A. STS Air Sprung Cell Mattresses can be inflated in a number of ways. We have been very careful in using a TPU laminate on the internal face of the fabrics that has been manufactured with an anti-microbial treatment. This means that you are able to blow your mattress up by mouth without risk of mould growth inside the mattress. If you prefer not to huff and puff when setting up camp, we have created the Jet Stream Pump Pack and the Air Stream Dry Sack to make your life easier.

    Q. HOW DO I REPAIR MY AIR SPRUNG CELL MAT?

    A. Every mattress comes with a repair kit containing a number of patches. These self-adhesive repair patches can be used on holes up to about 2 mm in diameter with complete confidence. If you have a hold larger than this, please contact STS enquiries as to the best way to effect a repair.

    Q. WHAT DO I DO IF WATER OR MOISTURE GETS TRAPPED INSIDE MY MATTRESS?

    A. Having a small amount of moisture trapped inside your mattress is not a major issue, and the moisture will not damage your mat in anyway because of the anti-microbial TPU lining. You should, however, give your mattress an opportunity to dry out when you get a chance. The best way to achieve this is to hang the mat in a warm and dry environment with the valve open.

    Q. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN MY STS MATTRESS?

    A. Mild soap and water is the best way to try and clean any dirt or grime off your mattress. The external coating on the face fabric will ensure that cleaning is quick and effective. Be careful not to use any strong cleaning products or bleaches, as these will damage the fabrics and potentially compromise the integrity of the mattress.
